BELLA CARDIGAN - THE GARDEN

The Bella cardigan is an intricately knitted garment, screen-printed and then embroidered using the ancient Aari technique. It is a dense, warm vest depicting a naive vegetable garden landscape, evoking the joy of harvesting the fruits of one's labor to cook the finest dishes. The vegetable garden print is created using stencils placed between the ink and the fabric. The ink passes through the mesh of a screen with the help of a squeegee. Then, by hand, the embroidery enhances the piece with needle and thread.
